Hypnotherapy ~ Focus & Rest
Relaxation:
We all need sleep
and rest, it is essential to our health and wellbeing. Rest might not be enough
with the huge worries and stresses that confronts us daily. While relaxing
hobbies are encouraged they too may not be enough to meet our needs in a busy
environment. Hypnotherapy is a great tool for resetting the body / brain clock,
and learning to access these states for inner healing, awake focus and goal
setting. It can literally mean the difference between failure and success and in
our personal health and coping skills.
Meditation and hypnosis trance states, can be measured as Brain-Waves on a
electroencephalograph (EEG) machine. Although the states vary from person to
person. The fact is the brain waves DO change as we go deeper and deeper into
sleep, meditation and or trance.
Brain Waves:
The brain wave
states of Alpha and Theta are the most effective with regeneration and
maintaining a healthy body and mind. We cycle through them as we sleep and the
body naturally utilises this time to detoxify and repair itself. These states
are also beneficial for awake focus - memory and in having a clear mind.
Science has labelled the changes of brain waves into four major ranges of oscillation. as they appear on an EEG machine.
For your information, they are:
The cycle of oscillation around 14 - 20 cps, is known as Beta brain wave state. This is the state of normal conscious awareness. Everyday alertness. Where we spend most of aware consciousness. Because we cycle from Beta, to Alpha and Theta at various times through the day - naturally. We experience the full range of emotions and it is where we "worry" and "stress" the most. Whereas 25 + - cps, is known as hysteria.
The cycle of oscillation around 7 - 14 cps, is known as the Alpha brain wave state. In this state, the mind is able to visualise, yet remain alert but relaxed. The body and breathing relaxes and around 20 minutes of alpha meditation is equal to around three hours of body relaxation and regeneration. Alpha is the creative cycle of the mind. Alpha states of awareness occur naturally in the awake state and also while you sleep. I.e. dreaming.
The cycle of oscillation around 4 - 7 cps, is known as the Theta brain wave state. This is the state of deep relaxation. Theta is experienced frequently by Zen meditators. If awareness is maintained, you may experience psychic phenomenon and or out of body experiences. Both Alpha and Theta states are times where the body repairs itself and cells regenerate.
Finally, the cycle of oscillation around 0 - 4 cps, is known as the Delta brain wave state. This is the state where we experience our deepest stages of sleep. It is highly unlikely to have any conscious awareness at this level of brain activity.
Learning to utilise the cycles of the brain through hypnosis is one of
the keys to personal power, magnetism and success
